Hey! My name is Alex, I am a 24 year old, chronically ill, trans man seeking assistance with the costs associated with top surgery.

After over 10 years of transitioning, and a year on the public surgery waitlist, I been given a date to receive top surgery in the form of a double mastectomy, with only four weeks notice to prepare both the pre and post surgical funds.

Receiving this surgery would be absolutely life-changing, both as a gender affirming surgery and in increasing my overall quality of life.

Given the nature of my health conditions, I have been unable to work for over 12 months, and have many additional factors to consider when preparing for and recovering from surgery, including a variety of specialist appointments, a sudden change in non pbs-funded medications, and a higher likelihood of complications requiring follow up appointments with the surgeon.
