Alex has been a director at University Child Development for YEARS and has worked as a teacher for over 10 years and the current board of directors at UCD {which is made up of parents and changes every year} “let her go” because they “can’t afford her”, even though she’s a single mom to a disabled daughter and only makes $47,000 a year. They want to utilize the infant spot that Alex’s daughter “takes up” that she was grandfathered into by the state of Kansas. Free childcare is included in Alex’s original employment contract. Alex has done NOTHING wrong to deserve this, and me and DJ are just shook that this is happening to her and that people can just carelessly do this.
Sutton requires full time care by Alex making finding another job not as easy as it is for everyone else. But this is the type of person Alex is:
She’s never complains or feels bad for herself at the amount of responsibility she has as a parent. She said to me a couple days ago that she has a “dream life.” She comes to work every day with a huge smile on her face. All of my kids have LOVED her and have flourished under her care.
She lost access to the business bank account for a few days before she finished her two weeks and she needed to order lunch for the kids last Friday. This woman, who has just been fired, ordered these people’s children who just fired her for no reason, pizza with HER OWN MONEY, and she said it was “no biggie.”
The heart on this woman is just incredible, and we want to help her out and ease some financial stress for her. If Alex has ever taken care of your children or impacted you or your kids life in a positive way, I encourage you to donate as a final thanks for being an incredible person and child care provider in the Topeka community for years.
