Alex's road to recovery and healing!

Donation protected
Alex has been a genuine husband, father, son, brother, and friend to many over the years. He's always loving and willing to help others in there time of need. Alex recently experienced an unexpected series of illnesses that will affect his life forever.

On November 21, 2023, Alex got a terrible upper respiratory infection that seemed to have gotten worst by the day. When things seemed to finally improve he had a turn for the worst. It was a endless cycle of stress and pain.

On January 19th 2024, Alex called me with slurred speech. At first, I thought it was his blood sugar but then soon realized something serious was happening. Once we arrived at the emergency room, the nurses quickly started asking questions and running tests. The test revealed that Alex had a severe stroke. Unfortunately, the stroke wasn't the only issue. We also learned that Alex had stage 4 kidney failure, heart complications, and RSV. They started treatment immediately, administering multiple medications and dialysis before sending him to rehab.

During this difficult time of trauma we were hit with the unexpected realization of the insurance denying coverage for Alex's home healthcare and medical equipment. He also has dialysis on a regular and we are faced with very expensive copayments for the dialysis treatments.

Alex is paralyzed on one side, he has been sleeping downstairs in our apartment because he's unable to get upstairs to his bedroom nor has the accessibility needed to live a comfortable life. With prayer to Jehovah we were able to break the lease for our apartment. We are working to get moved to a handicap accessible unit but unable to afford moving cost.

Going from a two income household to now having to survive financially on one income while having to pay out of pocket for treatment and medical equipment is impossible. We are awaiting approval for social security disability but until then we are struggling to maintain.

We are in desperate need of help from our friends, family, and anyone willing to help. No amount is too small. With the combined assistance from our friends, family, and neighbors it could make his road to recovery obtainable. We truly appreciate the love and support from everyone in advance!
