Alex— A true zest for life with her contagious smile, loudest laugh, and heart full of dreams with two sweet babies at home.

After numerous tests and consultations, Alex was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome— a rare autoimmune disorder that attacks the nerves. Hopeful that with knowing the cause, they could work toward her healing but we still do not have a definite diagnosis.

On January 4th, Alex’s life changed forever. Our vivacious feisty girl, began the fight for her life. Alex suffered cardiac arrest x2 and was intubated. Going into multi-system organ failure with removal of 90 percent of her colon was just the beginning to a dreadful journey in finding a true diagnosis for the illness that plagued her for months prior to this admission and caused her to be unable to walk.

She would go on to code again a week later, and after a month of being hospitalized, aspirated fluids into her lungs. Each time with a prognosis of imminent death. She defied the odds, and doctors and nurses have deemed her “a miracle”.

As of now, the doctors are unable to make a definite diagnosis; but have determined that Alex is battling a far more serious disorder than her original diagnosis of Guillain-Barre.

We need your prayers, love and if possible, financial support as Alexandra continues to fight to recover. The ultimate goal is to bring her home, and in doing so, she will suffer extreme financial despair. Her insurance has been exhausted in the 85 days that she has been in the hospital, and the Physical Therapist expects it to be at least a year before Alex can walk again. Her projected daily home care will exceed $600, as she fights to stand and walk again.
