Alex’s journey and recovery

My name is Angela, I am Alex and Laurie’s oldest daughter. If you know my Dad he is a fighter, he’s stronger than anyone I know. We love him

with everything and he’s overcome a lot of things in his life but at this moment in time he’s going taking on the biggest journey he’s ever had to endure. Mid afternoon Friday, March 29th my dad was out of town for work and got into a car wreck, one that was caused from a stroke he began having while driving. He has a history of high blood pressure and at this point of the crash it had peaked and started bleeding in his brain. When the impact happened he hit his head which made the injuries worse, he lost feeling to his left side of his body and became unable to talk. They rushed him to St. George regional where he was seen right away and Life Flighted back to Las Vegas. He is currently under intensive care in the ICU of UMC las vegas. As of this morning the bleeding in his brain has not gotten better, the type of injury it is they can not go in with surgery because it will make it worse. He will stay in a sedated state to keep him comfortable and all we can do is pray. The brain has to heal itself at this time .. This being said he will be here for a long time, the injuries his body and brain have sustained will be an unknown recovery road. This situation is minute by minute hour by hour and day by day. They anticipate a long road ahead but my dad is strong and is a warrior. He will fight with everything in him. This will be a heavy financial burden on my parents that will be stressful and I’m asking for anyone to donate anything you can. I know my mom would never ask for help from anyone and that’s why I’m doing this for them, she will need all of the support, love, and the financial backing to be able to support herself and my dad through this extremely difficult time. They own an IT business where my dad is the main Technician and my mom runs everything, this will change the entire dynamic of their business and main income.
