My name is Alex Asta and I'm currently facing some very difficult times financially.

I am a single father coparenting my amazing 6 year old daughter. My goal is to provide as much stability as I can to her.

I have been unemployed for 10 months. While I look for work daily, I currently need $20,000 to pay off debts that are immediate and will keep my daughter and I from staying in the home she’s lived in the last 6 years.

While I owe more than that, I feel that if I could get through the next few months and find work, things would stabilize and I could continue where we are.

Over the last three years, I've had a number of difficult financial hits.

1. I currently owe $16,000 in back rent, and this is my most immediate concern. I am very fortunate to have a landlord who is very supportive of my situation. However, because of bills she needs to take care of, she cannot extend herself any further.

2. I am the conservator for my recently deceased mother who passed away this February after 12 years of dementia. She required intensive care in an assisted living facility and she was in hospice for 2 1/2 years. The bills for her care, funeral expenses and settling of her affairs were substantial.

3. Being a single father has been expensive from a legal perspective. I have $45,000 in legal fees over the last three years just to obtain 50/50 custody and to create a workable parenting plan.

4. I have child support to pay to my coparenting partner that I have been unable to keep up with.

5. I have been unable to find work over the last 10 months despite what I feel is a very diligent effort.

I am committed to trying to keep my current rental house and provide a safe and consistent home for my daughter with emphasis on keeping her world as stable as possible.

The money you give will help me do that.
