For my bat mitzvah project I am combining something I love with something important to me. I found Karina story  and knew I wanted to help. Karina is a six-year-old girl battling leukemia. She and her mom were kind enough to share their story and educate others on the work being done to try to find a cure for children’s cancer. They began to raise money for Alex’s Lemonade Stand, a charity that donates their proceeds to pediatric cancer research.

I am running nine 5k’s, the equivalent of a marathon, to help Karina meet her goal. As of right now, I have run four races and plan to complete the rest over the next year.
