Alex’s Army of Support
It says that Alex created this but he didn’t, I did, and it won’t let me change it! ♀️
This picture is of me with my son, Alex, the day that he graduated from college. He was all excited to start the next chapter of his life and we were excited for him. Then on June 4, 2018 he got up like any other day and had a seizure. We were terrified and called an ambulance immediately. Then he had a second seizure and they took him for an MRI where they found a tumor the size of a toy football in his left frontal lobe. God’s Hand was seen in every portion of that journey. We found a wonderful neuro-oncologist, Dr Kalra, here at Sarah Cannon and he referred us to MD Anderson in Houston for surgery. There we saw God’s hand move again as Dr Sawaya removed his tumor and felt he had gotten the whole thing. Alex went through 33 treatments of radiation and over a year of chemo which ended just before Covid hit.
Which brings us today. We have
“possible tumor progression”. Not what we wanted to hear. Alex has had six seizures since March 20th, his processing and speech is delayed and he has some weakness in his right leg. During his most recent seizure he stopped breathing for several seconds. Stops a parents heart. Ourneuro-surgeon has asked for us to come back to MD Anderson. We are due there for appointments on April 21st. Alex had his medical bills down to under $3000 and now they will be going back up and he can’t work. He needs some help beyond uson this journey. You helped before and we come to you again. If you feel lead to give we will be grateful. If not then we covet your prayers. God always provides.
