On January 29, 2018, Alexis’s and our family’s lives were changed in an instant. Alexis was involved in a horrible motorcycle accident. He suffered extremely bruised lungs, several broken ribs, a broken shoulder, a broken pelvic bone due to being stabbed by an unknown object and a broken back.
As a mother, as his mother, I have lived my worse nightmare. I was faced with the possibility that my 27 year old, full of life, baby boy could die.
January 29, 2018...the day my son was born again. God saved him! But his road to recovery is a long one. Most of his injuries will and have healed but his back...Alexis is paralyzed from the hips down to his toes.
We have asked the doctors what what his chances to walk again are, they simply do not know. All that can be done is that Alexis learn to live his life while his nerves find their way back, while we find new cures, while we do whatever we have to to help him.
In in the meantime the bills are piling up. Until his broken shoulder heals he needs 24/7 care. After all, he can only use one arm. That’s it, one out of four limbs. Our house needs remodeling to be equipped to house him until we find the proper living arrangements, 24 hour care because we have to keep working, transportation, wheelchairs, catheters, medicine, all of it very costly. We need help because as much as I would love to do it on my own, I simply do not have the resources. As his mother that hurts me in the very depths of my soul but as his mother I will do anything to get him the help he needs. So I humbly ask, please help me help my son.
