Alexis Reyes local firefighter

On January 6, 2024; Alexis Reyes, a local firefighter for Monroe County was driving Southbound on US1 to Lower Keys hospital to do her hours for Paramedic school when she became injured in a motor vehicle accident. She has been found not at fault.
Alexis had to have surgery on 1-12-24 in which they had to install plates and screws to her badly fractured wrist. Although, there is automobile insurance it is low coverage, which she will be receiving little funds to cover out of pocket co- pays and loss of wages. Medical insurance is available but there are still co- pays and some out of pocket expenses that her mother has covered.
Alexis will be in recovery for three to five months in which she will be receiving physical and occupational therapy for her wrist. The doctor says there will be a full recovery in up to one year.
Alexis will have to go on light duty at work and hopefully they will have a position for her. She is also in Paramedic class and will continue to as well as she can.
There will be funds needed for monthly rent, traveling to and from therapy, doctors appointments, co- pays for medical as well as helping her obtain another vehicle. We aren't sure the outcome for her current vehicle loss but know it won't be much considering the year and type of car it was.
We are asking for help in order for Alexis to continue with her recovery costs for her injury as well as overall basic bills. We appreciate any help!
