Alexis Needs Your Help: Spinal Cord Stimulator

Donation protected
In January 2024, our sweet friend’s lives were tragically altered when a driver ran a red light, causing a severe car accident. Alexis sustained a concussion, significant hip and nerve damage, and developed mobility issues. For months, she underwent intensive physical therapy and, by the grace of God, she was able to walk again just one week before their wedding in April.

Despite her progress, Alexis continued to experience pain and discomfort, particularly in her hips and legs, and she remained in physical therapy throughout the summer. By July, new complications arose as she began experiencing severe back pain. After a few days of attempting to manage it at home, they sought medical attention, leading to a three-week hospital stay. During this time, Alexis’ condition worsened, and her left foot contracted, leaving her unable to walk or bear weight on her leg.

Since then, they have consulted with dozens of specialists in search of answers and viable treatments. They have tried a range of options, including nerve blocks, opioids, dry needling, and various therapies—though very little has provided lasting relief. They had hoped to proceed with a spinal cord stimulator, but due to the minimal insurance coverage from the driver responsible for the accident, we’ve been informed that there are no funds left for this crucial treatment.

Just last Friday, January 31st, they tried a new series of injections from a pelvic pain specialist in hopes of finding some relief. Unfortunately, this only intensified Alexis’ pain, making her condition even worse. Where she was once down to experiencing two debilitating pain spasms per day, she is now suffering from eight plus intense spasms daily, each lasting up to two hours, often leaving her in screaming pain and tears.

We are reaching out to you, our community, for support. After months of battling both physical and emotional challenges, we continue to fight for a solution that will allow Alexis to regain her quality of life. Any contribution, no matter how small, will go directly toward medical expenses and the ongoing search for the care she so desperately needs.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for your support during this incredibly difficult journey. Our God is faithful and we are believing in a miracle!
