Hello all. My name is Alton Smith. I am creating this GoFundMe account for my daughter, Alexis Smith.
Alexis has been stricken with 5 aneurysms (3 located at the upper right side of her brain - one at 6mm in size is hemorrhaging with the other two at 3mm and stable). There is one smaller aneurysm located on the left side and another small one located in the back of her head.
It should be noted that Alexis has suffered from migraines her entire life (she is 37 at present). Multiple CT scans throughout the years provided no explanation for the recurring migraines. The head neurologist at Kaiser finally ordered a CT scan with contrast. The result: the 5 aforementioned aneurysms were discovered!
Alexis was admitted into Kaiser under the care of a Neurological Specialist on 6/11/2025. On 6/13/2025, the “Endovascular Clipping” method was performed to attempt repair of the three right side aneurysms. The surgeon decided to hold off repairing the two smaller aneurysms and simply monitor them for now. It should be noted that in spite of receiving Tylenol, Oxytocin, and, at times, Dilaudid, Alexis remains in constant pain during this entire procedure.
An angiography was performed on 6/20/2025 to measure improvement of the operation procedure. The procedure showed that the untreated smaller aneurysm on the left side will need to be treated soon. Additionally, two of the three aneurysms clipped during surgery now show residual “necks.” An operation to place “stents” on these two will be performed on Monday, 6/23/2025.
Alexis works as a primary fleet specialist leader at the AAA Sacramento Center at the Army Depot. Her team constantly receives accolades for top customer service performance. Alexis has always prioritized others versus herself, and the consistent performance shows that her work ethic is second to none.
Alexis is the best daughter that anyone could possibly hope for - she is loving, genuine, and is always willing to help others with any task(s) needed. She is married to Viana and has 3 children (ages 14, 13, and 7).
Unfortunately, this unplanned medical condition has caused a huge financial burden - Alexis is the sole family wage earner at present (Viana is currently in the final stages of school - medical assistant and has no monetary support at this time). Alexis will be off work and on unpaid FMLA for at least the next 12 weeks. She may qualify for State Disability (approximately 60% of her normal salary). We are establishing this GoFundMe account to help the family meet their routine expenses. Any amount (large or small) that you can give will be GREATLY appreciated!
Once I figure out how to do it, I will post a picture.
Thank you.
