NMDA ENCEPHALITIS
Alexis has always been a very loving, funny, respectful girl. Full of life and dreams of becoming a dentist. She graduated high school in June 2020 and had started attending University in Sept 2020. On November 7th all that changed. Alexis had complained of a severe headache, began to have seizures and was admitted to a hospital, within 24-48 hrs of being hospitalized she became unresponsive and was placed on life support. After many test, scans, procedures, Alexis parents received the diagnosis of NMDA encephalitis. A condition in which the body creates antibodies which attack the brain, due to complications she was transferred to Madera Childrens Hospital which is two hours from home. Unfortunately, due to the severity of her condition her parents have been unable to leave her side. The pandemic has added more stress making it impossible for her parents to have additional support from family present in the hospital and the resources that would otherwise be offered to parents in this situation are not available. We realize that times are difficult for many and especially during the holiday season. We ask that you help out a family in need . If your reading this and don't have the means to donate we ask that you keep her, her parents, and her siblings in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you for your support.
