Hello, my name is Natali Pietersma and I am the oldest niece of the late Alexis Galleguillos.

It is with a very heavy heart that I write this for my family.

On the evening of December 16th, 2022 my cousins Brandon and Alexandra Galleguillos’ father Alexis went missing. He was last seen leaving a Christmas party that was held at one of his friends house in north Edmonton. After a very long and painful 13 day search, his body was recovered within the river valley area in Edmonton. As of right now, the cause of death is unknown and we are still anxiously waiting for the results of the autopsy from this ongoing investigation.

My uncle Alexis was a very charismatic and wonderful soul. He always knew how to get a smile or laugh out of anyone that came to know him. His contagious laugh alone could get anyone cracking up and light up a room. Although he was very funny he was always serious about his kids and always put his family first. My family and I will be forever thankful for his help when my family immigrated to Canada in 1995. He was some of the only family we knew and although we had never met in person before, he made us feel safe, Welcome and at home.

My uncle’s unconditional love for his children is gift I always admired. His Brandini (Brandon) and Sinforosa (Alexandra) meant the world to him and even had these silly little nicknames for them from the time they were born. He was notorious for his random and comical nicknaming. His loving and giving spirit will forever be imbedded in our hearts.

My family and I are so overwhelmed by the support and love we have received during this difficult time. We are beyond grateful for every message, phone call and prayer we have acquired.

Our family is currently seeking assistance during this difficult time. All funds will go directly to the costs of the funeral arrangements as this was an unexpected passing his children were not prepared for. Any donation, no matter the amount would be greatly appreciated.

Hola, yo soy Natali Pietersma y la sobrina mayor del recién fallecido Alexis Galleguillos. Es con un corazón muy pesado que escribo esto para mi familia.

En la noche del 16 de diciembre de 2022, Alexis desapareció y fue visto por última vez saliendo de una fiesta de Navidad que se llevó a cabo en la casa de uno de sus amigos en el norte de Edmonton.

Después de una búsqueda muy larga y dolorosa de 13 días, su cuerpo fue encontrado en el área del valle del río en Edmonton. Hasta el momento, se desconoce la causa de la muerte y todavía estamos esperando ansiosamente los resultados de la autopsia de esta investigación en curso.

Mi tío Alexis era un alma muy carismática y maravillosa. Siempre supo cómo sacar una sonrisa o reír de cualquiera que llegara a conocerlo. Su risa contagiosa por sí sola podría hacer reír a cualquiera e iluminar una habitación. Aunque era muy divertido, siempre se tomaba en serio a sus hijos Brandon y Alexandra Galleguillos y siempre ponía a su familia primero. Mi familia y yo estaremos eternamente agradecidos por su ayuda cuando mi familia emigró a Canadá en 1995. Era parte de la única familia que conocíamos y, aunque nunca antes nos habíamos conocido en persona, nos hizo sentir seguros, bienvenidos y como en casa.

El amor incondicional de mi tío por sus hijos es un regalo que siempre admiré. Su Brandini (Brandon) y Sinforosa (Alexandra) significaban el mundo para él e incluso tenían estos pequeños y amoroso apodos para ellos desde el momento en que nacieron. Era conocido por su apodo aleatorio y cómico. Su espíritu amoroso y generoso permanecerá para siempre en nuestros corazones.

Mi familia y yo estamos muy agradecidos por el apoyo y el amor que hemos recibido durante este momento difícil. Estamos más que agradecidos por cada mensaje, llamada telefónica y oración que hemos recibido, acerca del fallecimiento de nuestro tío.

Nuestra familia actualmente está buscando ayuda durante este momento difícil. Todos los fondos se destinarán directamente a los costos de los arreglos del funeral.Ya que este fue un fallecimiento inesperado para el que sus hijos no estaban preparados.
