alex&beths half marathon

Me and my brother have decided to do the half marathon in Sheffield on the 23rd march. I have been thinking what charity to fundraise for because there are so many that have a massive impact on the people around us.
However, very recently our nan, who is very close to us unexpectedly had suffered a stroke, we later found she had a small bleed in the brain and its affected her speech which is quite difficult to have to see as u don’t expect these things to happen to ur own loved ones until it happens, she didn’t let this affect her and is still full of character making us all laugh which makes a tough situation a lot more manageable for the rest of us.
Luckily, it hasnt affected her movement as such which we all are so grateful for as it could of been a lot worse, this had become a massive eye opener as you just don’t know what to expect and anything can happen just like that.
So as a result, i knew we had a purpose to run this half marathon and that we were gonna do it in support of people like my nan, i know she will appreciate this and she’ll be right behind us like she is with everything else we do. We have decided to run for the stroke association charity.
The stroke association helps rebuild people’s lives after a stroke, to which they also provide specialist support, fund critical research and campaign to make sure people affected by strokes get the very best care and support to rebuild their lives.
As i am writing this, our nan is currently in the chesterfield royal hospital and so far they have all been great, my nan wouldn’t possibly be developing as well as she is without their help.

I also want to say thank you to every one of you who are donating to this go fund me, we really appreciate it and we can’t wait to do our first half marathon together for a purposeful cause.

Thanks again, Beth❤️
