"O sing unto the Lord a new song: sing unto the Lord, all the earth." Psalm 96:1
Hi, everyone!
If you don't know me personally, I'm Alexa Cantu, and I am a freshman at Southwestern Assemblies of God University.
This coming July, I'll have the privilege of joining a short-term (two weeks) mission trip to the United Kingdom with a group of students and musicians.
We will be focusing on bringing the gospel and sharing love and hope through music. We will be teaming with a missionary and leading worship at various churches in the London area, as well as ministering in pubs.
I would have never in a million years expected to be going on a mission trip to England, let alone anywhere else simply because (brutal, honest truth coming up) I have never felt called to missions. My heart has never felt a tug to that area of ministry. However, God leads us wherever He wants because He is our Creator, He orders our steps to take us to the fulfillment of His purpose for our lives, and well, He can do whatever He wants with me.
Some of you know that I recieved a prophetic word about a month or two ago about a trip that I was unsure of. An amazing and powerful woman of God shared the vision that she received from the Lord about me. It went something like: "You were leading worship with a group of powerful musicians and many people surrounded you guys in the streets. You all were bringing so many people to Christ; it was amazing! As you continued to walk throughout the place you were in, I noticed a change of location. You were in a different land; you were no longer in the U.S.A. I very clearly saw behind you the flag of England. The Lord is calling you to England."
I am so grateful and so excited for this opportunity that Jesus has given me and I'm so ready to serve.
Now, here's the awkward part where I have to ask you for your help. Realizing that this trip does not happen without the involvement of many people, I am asking for your support. Not only financial, but most importantly, your prayers. Pray for safety over my team, ready hearts, and an awakening in the people we encounter.
Lastly, I just want to say a ginormous thank you in advance for your contribution and support and I pray that God will pour out His blessings on you in return. My heart is ready and expectant of greatness over the U.K. I am in complete awe of my King and His works in my life and I'm ready to give back to Him.
Thank you SO much once again, it means so much to me!
Be Blessed,
Alexa Cantu
