I am posting this on behalf of my dear family friend Alexa in Mongolia. Alexa has experienced a devastating life event and needs help restarting her future. At the end of 2023, Alexa's husband of 18 years told her that he had been living like an actor in a “role” and never loved her. He soon left for Thailand and his new girlfriend, forcing Alexa to cease operations on their newly established Chinese business. She had to flee north in their motorhome to Mongolia and, since December 2024, has been scraping by without work on a tourist visa. We are raising funds to support her immediate needs of housing and daily essentials until her divorce is finalized and alimony amounts are decided. She would like to start her own eco-business and be self-supporting, and any extra funds raised will go towards a new residence visa for herself and her small dog, Daphne.

Our goal is $4000 to cover her rent, utilities, dog care, and food for three months in Mongolia while the divorce terms are decided. At nearly 51 years of age, Alexa has completely devoted herself for 18 years to her husband's advanced degree in England, UK, and supported his various dreams and ambitions in career and travel. She worked manual labor jobs when they lived in the countryside surrounding his university. As her ex-husband was a child of the foster care system, Alexa was sensitive to his personal anxieties and limitations and did her best to be a personal refuge of safety and hope whenever he needed it, which was frequently. She also made it her mission to see that he had a chance to experience everything that was on his personal bucket list. They lived and traveled the world together, with her utilizing exceptional organization skills to “make it happen.”

Now, during his and her midlife years, he has entirely and unexpectedly abandoned her in an unfamiliar country with a refusal to honor his separation agreement and promise of assistance. With the advancement of two chronic mobility issues developing in her body over the last decade, the injustice of his total abandonment right when she most needed support is maddening. With your help, we can support Alexa in surviving until she can move to a new country and establish herself independently. Every donation, suggestion, and contact shared, big or small, will help. Her monthly living costs in Mongolia are low due to exchange rates, and not currently considering attorney fees, Alexa's average monthly costs come to just around $1100. Wrong things happen, but your kind support will help Alexa turn a wrong thing into a right one.
