Alexandria's Celebration of Life

Hello,

Who am I?...
My name is Jared Jayde Barragan-Grigsby, and Alexandria Leary is my soul sister. She would say that there are six soulmates for each person in this universe. With a bond so strong, and an uncompromising intertwining of spirits, we firmly believed we have been one of each other's for multiple lifetimes.

Who was Alex?...
As most of you already know, Alex was someone who spilled unconditional love onto everything and everyone: from the smallest fish to the tallest redwood and everything in between. Many of you were probably fortunate enough to be the direct recipient of her love; and if you weren't, you were still an indirect recipient of it since that's all Alex emanated. I've always admired her ability to hold so much space for so many people, all while simultaneously doing her own self-care, working, running her business, and being an overall independent boss ass b**ch. When I lost my biological sister to cancer, Alex flew cross country merely to be with me because that's the type of person she was. She would do anything to show up for her loved ones. Alex was truly an angel on earth.

Her Story...
We were so lucky to be able to celebrate her 32nd and final birthday with her on December 21st, 2022 for on the morning of January 16th, 2023, Alex suddenly and randomly had a stroke while getting ready for her day. Thank Spirit that her partner, Taylor, was still there to call an ambulance. Being the fighter that she is, she fought hard for almost a week in the hospital. Sadly, Alex succumbed to complications and left her body on January 22nd.

How Can You Help?
What brings us here, sadly, is the need to memorialize Alex. Because Alex was nothing but love, light, and a whole ass vibe of a time, that's exactly how we plan to celebrate her. The celebration of life will reflect Alex and all of her glory. It will serve to assist the many lives that she has touched in embarking on their healing processes while providing community, a safe space, and more importantly: fun! - as that is the vibe Alex would have wanted. I spoke with Alex's mother, Laura, recently about the event and discovered that she's doing this all by herself! As many of us have had to burden the pain of figuring out: death, funerals, and memorials are quite expensive. This brings us to how you can help. I've put together this GoFundMe and listed Laura as the beneficiary to assist with funds related to losing a loved one. Whether Alex has directly touched your life or not, please consider donating to help her mother. No donation is too small. Alex used to promise her mom that one day she would be able to take care of her the way Laura did Alex... Let's help her turn that dream into reality.
