Alexandra's Fundraiser

Hi everyone. As many know, I was recently diagnosed with ALS: respiratory/bulbar onset. The progression is different for everyone and I remain open to healing, both traditional and medical. I am surrounded by love, community and medical support, and am living in gratitude for so much.

I don't know how much time I will have, so I am creating a celebration of my life. I want to see friends and family and express my gratitude before I am unable to speak or breathe on my own.

Many also have asked, "how can I help?" I have incredible support from the ALS clinic at UBC and the ALS Association here in Vancouver who have provided me with a wheelchair, hospital bed, support groups and lots of information.

The best way to help is financial (if you are able). Attached is a Go Fund Me to help pay for half the costs of the catered celebration ($3000). I am also hoping to subsidize a couple of friends who are seniors and can't afford plane tickets ($1500). Anything above $4500 will be 1/4 donated to the ALS Association, and 3/4 into a trust fund for my sons, both of whom are in their twenties and just starting to get their feet under them.

As a mom, the best thing for me will be to know that my sons will be ok on their own. Please hold them in your prayers and stay connected with them if you know them.

Sending love to you all.
