My name is Alexandra, and I am a mother of four children. Just over a month ago, I made the terrifying but necessary decision to escape from an abusive marriage in Wyoming. For years, I endured emotional, verbal, and psychological abuse that left me constantly fearful and on edge. The abuse wasn’t just directed at me—it also deeply affected my children, who were often exposed to yelling, intimidation, and unsafe situations.

On July 4th, I discovered a threatening text message on my husband’s phone where he wrote that he was going to shoot me. That was the breaking point. I knew I had to protect my children and myself. With nothing but courage and faith, I fled Wyoming with my children and came to California, where we are now living with my mother.

Since then, I’ve taken the legal steps to protect my children and myself. I filed for a Domestic Violence Restraining Order (DVRO) in Riverside County, California, and it was accepted. I now have a court hearing scheduled for September 8, 2025. At this hearing, I must present my case to the judge so that my children and I can continue to be protected from further harm.

This is where I need your help.

I cannot face this hearing alone. My husband has already hired attorneys to represent him, and I need legal representation to ensure my voice is heard and my children’s safety is prioritized. The cost of an attorney is far beyond my means as I am currently unemployed, starting over, and focusing on healing and rebuilding a safe home for my children.

Your support will go directly toward retaining a domestic violence attorney to represent me at the DVRO hearing. This hearing is critical because it will determine whether my children and I receive long-term protection. Having an experienced attorney by my side could mean the difference between safety and being vulnerable to further manipulation and intimidation.
