On Monday January 13th, 2020, Alexandra Blake Herzog and Brooklyn Rae Herzog were born at just 26 weeks and 2 days. Alexandra was born at 12:19pm weighing 1 lb. 8 oz, and 11.5 inches long. Brooklyn was born at 12:20pm weighing 1 lb. 10 oz. and 13.25 inches long. These beautiful twins were born to Sierra and Courtney Herzog-Hood. Sierra had some unforeseen complications that placed her in the hospital on December 27th to be closely monitored. A complication caused the twins to be delivered on January 13th.
Being Preemies, Alexandra and Brooklyn, along with Mom's Courtney and Sierra, have a long road ahead of them. Both girls are currently on a ventilator but have begun to eat by feeding tube. The hope is that Brooklyn will transition to CPAP in the next couple of days, and Alex, to move to a lower grade ventilator. They are having issues keeping their white blood cell count up so that is being closely monitored. Some great news so far was testing done today January 20th, that showed neither girl received a brain bleed!!! That is terrific news!
Currently only Brooklyn has been able to be held. Hopefully, Alex will soon be able to be held as well. We ask for prayers for this family, and the health of Alexandra and Brooklyn.
We created this go fund me as a way to raise money towards hospital bills, parking and necessities, as it's very likely Alex and Brooklyn will remain at Children's until April.
Courtney and Sierra will soon be making a Caringbridge webpage to post updates for everyone to see how the girls are doing!
