Greetings,
I would like to introduce myself and share my story. My name is Alexander and I am 33 years old. I am a father of two beautiful boys whom I am raising with my fiancé, Gabriella.
For the last 10 years I have battled with chronic kidney failure. As my health has declined, it has led me to do dialysis and be hooked to a machine for 10 hours every night for the last 3.5 years.
My whole family has been affected by this disease as they have watched me battle with depression. Through hard work and a change of mindset, as well as my faith in God, I’ve been able to overcome my battle with depression and regain control of my life.
It feels like once I changed the way I viewed my circumstance and began building myself back up, God stepped in and intervened.
This past Memorial Day I received a call from the transplant team informing me that they have found a candidate and surgery is set for the 22nd of September!
Words cannot describe the emotions of gratitude I am feeling. My Aunt who I love dearly was chosen to be the right fit for me.
She is the most selfless person I know and has always been a source of love and encouragement for me. I know I can never repay her back for the gift of life she is gifting me, but I can attempt to relieve her of her worries by helping to cover her expenses while being out due to surgery and recovery.
Recovery may take 4-6 weeks and she is a single mother who owns a business that requires her to physically be there in person. Being that she is donating me a kidney, she will be unable to make income or pay her bills for that month.
I hope that somehow with the support of my family and friends that we can donate back to her, for being a warrior in her own right, and blessing myself and my family with the gift of life.✊
Anything you can give will go a long way. ❤️
Thank you
