Hi my name is Emily, we have done a Go Fund Me before asking for help with past medical procedures and I thank you all so much for the help! For those of you who don't know Alexander's back story he had a lump on his neck we went to his primary care doctor and was sent for ultrasound and then sent to an endocrinologist finding out he has a very rare thyroid cancer in children called hurtle cell carcinoma! He has two different surgery's having both sides of his thyroid removed, several procedures and tests, and he goes annually for blood work and ultrasounds. In his most recent ultrasound at Boston children's hospital everything looked normal.. but his blood work was a different story, his tumor marker ( which levels and keeps track of the cancer) has gone up several points, ( his levels have been steady at a very low level going on almost 2 years now!) Which unfortunately means that it is very much a possibility that his cancer has now come back and could very possibly be some where else in his body! So we will be traveling to Boston children's hospital at the end of the month for a two week spam for his radioactive iodine treatment, he will be hospitalized for this for 5/6 days, we will need to stay at a hotel right by the hospital for 3 nights prior to his hospitalization for testing and blood work before. I know it's right after Christmas but if anyone can donate anything it would help with gas to and from Boston, the 3 night hotel stay before and any other food or medical cost we may need .
