Hello everyone a little about Alexander:
Alexander was born 05/11/2011. He was born with rare diagnoses, Septo Optic Dysplasia (SOD) and Optic Nerve Hypoplasia (ONH.) Currently SOD is in only 1:50,000 babies and ONH being in 1:10,000 babies. With ONH now being the leading cause of infant blindness. Due to these conditions he has no sight nor will he ever gain sight. I am trying to make his life as easy as possible. He has started preschool where he has flourished. He's learning so many new skills and his speech and language skills have blossomed. He is in pre braille and I am thankful to have such a great teacher of the visually impaired teaching him braille. I have learned that many kids in different states dont have the opportunity to ever learn braille. Braille is the only way for kids and adults that are blind or visually impaired to read and write. I made this fundraiser in hopes of raising enough money to purchase a Perkins Smart Brailler. This brailler is the most advanced brailler available, it has integrated computer software that talks to the child or adult.
