Alexander Sheppard was my son. On March 10, 2010 Alexander died from a brain tumor; he was 22. At the time, he was a student at Wichita State University working his way through college as a server at Applebees. Alexander did not have life insurance, and as a parent, I had not planned to bury a child, so I did not have any additional insurance on any of my children except for the small policy from my job. I paid the funeral expenses and remaining medical bills, but there was no money left to purchase a headstone. Alexander's family would like to raise funds to purchase the marker and hopefully have it placed before this Memorial Day.
