My brother, Alexander, miraculously survived hydrocephalus and cryptococcal meningitis. After almost two months of fighting in the hospital, he’s finally stable and ready to be discharged.

What We Spent So far

Or family has already spent over 2M pesos (1.4M pesos paid to the hospital and 620K Pesos for his life-saving antibiotics purchased directly from the supplier)

We’ve pooled together every peso we could—from savings, loans, and the help of relatives and friends. from savings, loans, and help from relatives and friends. We’ve sold belongings and borrowed wherever possible just to keep him alive.

Now, we’ve hit a wall. The remaining balance is beyond our capacity, and the hospital cannot discharge him until we settle the bill.

Dear friends, family, and kind strangers,

I'm reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your help in supporting my brother, Alexander (Boyet as we fondly call him), a 52-year-old husband and father who is one of the hardest-working and most selfless people I know. He and his family is living in Imus, Cavite, Philippines.

For over a month, he has been experiencing severe headaches. He thought it was just eye strain, so he went to get eyeglasses. His headaches persisted, and he went to see another doctor, who gave him medicines for migraines and vertigo. Just recently, Alexander was rushed to the hospital and finally diagnosed with Cryptococcal Meningitis and Hydrocephalus—a life-threatening combination. He is currently in critical condition, unable to work, and entirely dependent on urgent medical care to survive.

To stabilize his condition, Alexander has already undergone intensive hospital treatment and emergency care. And had the first surgery to treat hydrocephalus. However, he still needs:

Second surgery to treat his hydrocephalus, two surgeries estimated to cost PHP 200,000

Ventriculostomy Kit, PHP 41,184

And 14 days of high-cost antifungal antibiotics to fight the fungal infection at PHP 11,000/vials, four daily for 14 days. Total would be PHP616,000.00

These treatments are not optional—they are life-saving. But they are also costly.

As a family, we are doing everything possible, but the financial burden is overwhelming. That’s why we are humbly asking for your help. Our goal is to raise enough to cover:
