Alexander's Cranio Synostosis Surgery

Donation protected

Alex was diagnosed at 4 months old with Sagittal Synostosis. Sagittal Synostosis is as specific type of Cranio Synostosis that occurs when the middle two plates in his skull mend together prematurely causing his head to be elongated into the shape similar to a football.

Alex underwent surgery on May 9th 2014 where the experts at CHOP ( Children's Hospital of Philadelphia ) went in and had to cut open the sutures in his skull and also removed notches out of his skull to allow his skull to continue to grow into the correct rounded shape.

Alex has been handling the surgery great and is on his way to recovery. He still has some pretty moderate swelling and pain.

We appreciate any help that you can give to aid in paying the medical bills that we have received due to this surgery.

We plan on using excess donations to aid in raising awareness for Cranio Synostosis.

Thank you in advance.

Dan and Magda Baratta.
