Alexander Wade Hecker

First of all I would like to thank everyone that has donated thus far. Words cannot express how grateful we are. Quick update. Last week we spent our first of five weeks o on training. We also spent the week tearing our house apart and moving around every room to prepare Alexs' room for when he gets home. It was a pain but we got it completed. Between speaking with the insurance company and the social worker we still have no idea how we are going to manage. Insuance will not pay for hospice care, or at least they wont pay for nurses to come in and help. And with speaking to the social worker we will be denied by social security of which we need to re-apply and then get turned down again. At that point we could possibly get approved for something else, i cant remember the name, but it would pay for (50) 2 hour visits from hospice nurses. I mean it is a blessing i know but 100 total hours for a year long period is not much.

Anyways aside from that. Alex is doing really well. He is officially on the home vent machine. It was a little rocky at first but now he is doing great. We are feeding him through a tube in his stomach. He is doing good on that most days. We have had a few days of puking but we figured out we just have to feed him waaay slower. So 20ml every 30 minutes, every 3 hours. This week we are doing training on his trachea changes and training on his air vent.

We are asking if people can help us spread the word and talk others into donating. I mean not saying we desperate but, we are pretty desperate. We need all the help we can get at this point. Thanks to everyone, update at the end of the week.
