Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit Archibald Alexander Elementary PTO, and any donation will help make an impact.
Because of COVID-19, we are skipping our Fall Festival, which is traditionally our biggest fundraiser of the year. Normally, we ask local businesses to donate items to the Fall Festival for game prizes and silent auction prizes. This year, we are looking to folks to donate directly to the PTO.
What will we do with those funds?
Our PTO funds classroom projects, field trips, and more. A few examples of projects the PTO has taken on and funded over the past few years include:
- Run for the Schools! The PTO sponsors scholarships so that children whose families cannot afford the fee, can still participate in the Run for the Schools.
- Field trips! The PTO pays for bus fees so that all of our children can go on field trips for free. (With a little luck, these can resume in the spring.)
- Classroom projects! The PTO has funded classroom projects ranging from a swing to help calm children to a new sound system for the gym to supplies for teachers.
- Teacher grants! We support teachers' purchase of classroom supplies.
- Extracurriculars! The PTO supports extracurricular activities like the Alexander Knitting Club, which helps our children learn a lifelong hobby that has been shown to have mental health benefits.
