Alexa has some bills...

This is Alexa, our dear friend and co-worker. She’s incredible in so many ways.

In December 2019, she was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation, a serious neurological disorder where the bottom of the brain descends out of the skull and crowds into the spinal cord. She’s already been through major brain and spine surgery.

When you meet her though, you’d never know - partly because of her grace and fight, and partly because of her stubborn attitude towards not letting these 'issues' define her.

Even with the hard hand she’s been dealt, all you’ll see if you meet her is a positive, genuine, funny, kind, and hardworking young woman. Although she’s going through painful times, she is caring to everyone around her.

Just when Alexa thought she was getting her life back, her body had another plan. Through endless doctor appointments, physical therapy sessions, and a host of other recommended procedures, she has found out that she needs yet another surgery :( Because of all this, she has not been able to work for the last 5 months.

In addition to the surgery, her doctors recommend other treatments including nerve stimulation, red-light laser, decompression and soft tissue therapy several times a week. Her insurance does not cover any of these, yet they are vital to her recovery and her ability to get back to work.

So here we are, a bunch of folks who love her, banding together to help raise funds for her medical needs. If you’ve met her, you’ll know why. If you haven’t, just take our word for it:)
