Alexa Cuayahuitl Medical / Funeral Expenses

Donación protegida

UPDATE- January 19, 2020
It is with an incredibly heavy heart that I share an update I never imagined having to make. Alexa went to be with Jesus yesterday afternoon, Saturday January 18th. We are completely heartbroken and still trying to process it all. Her aunt called at 4:50, and apparently it had just happened. She had been doing much better this past week, and on Thursday we had even received a video of her awake and reaching out to hold her dad’s hand. Her mom, dad, sisters, and entire family are devastated and need our immediate prayers for comfort and peace.
Thank you for every single prayer and donation made over this past month. Her dad has expressed extreme gratitude every single time we’ve talked to him, and been incredibly humbled by everyone’s generosity.
Sadly, they will now be facing the cost of a funeral. If you feel led to donate or share this page and Alexa’s story, we would love to be able to take the burden of that cost off of them if possible. I will keep this GoFundMe page up in hopes of reaching the original goal set, and I will update again once I have more information about when the funeral services will be held.

ORIGINAL-
This account has been set up to bless the Cuayahuitl family with financial help and support to relieve as much stress as possible while they care for their precious Alexa, who is currently fighting for her life.

Alexa’s dad is the only source of income in the family, and they do not currently have insurance.  They could desperately use all of our help.  He, along with all of her family have not left Alexa’s side since this all started, so they have no income at this time.  And we all know what medical bills, even with insurance can look like!  This family is very special to many of us, so please spread the word and let’s help Alexa and her family in their time of need.

They strongly believe in the power of prayer, and that has been their #1, and only request.  So please pray for her, and lift this family up to the Lord.

Information from the family...
“On Thursday December 12th, Alexa started not feeling well.  She had a fever and was saying her chest was hurting .  Before that,  she had not been sick whatsoever and had not been showing any symptoms of any illness . The following day (Friday, Dec. 13th), they took her to get checked out,  and she was admitted to the hospital where they were told she had severe pneumonia, and the flu.  Because her pneumonia was so severe it caused damage to her lungs, which lead to internal bleeding in her lungs.  She was then put on life support, and has relied on it for the last 5 days because her lungs weren’t functioning properly.  Her kidneys were also damaged due to all the medicine she was receiving, and to prevent further damage they put her on a dialysis machine.  The doctors so far have said that she could be there anywhere from a couple of weeks, to a couple of months.”

Every penny donated, will be going to Alexa’s dad & mom.  If you have ANY questions at all, please contact me.  I am more than happy to answer what questions I can.
