Hello, my name is Alex Maday. I am a freshman at Whitney High School and I am on the Whitney Girls Wrestling team. Wrestling for Whitney High School has been an incredible experience and I am looking forward to ongoing practices, trainings, wrestling meets, and tournaments.

This past year I qualified for the CIF State tournament. This was such an honor as only the top 32 wrestlers in the state qualified. I ended up finishing Top 12 and becoming the number one freshman in my weight class out of the entire state of California. Additionally, I am one of the first freshmen at Whitney High School to make it to State and the first to win matches at the tournament. Outside of High School wrestling tournaments, I placed 2nd at Freestyle State, and received an All-American title at Reno Worlds, a national tournament. Recently, I was accepted to go to Fargo Nationals, which is one of the biggest and most challenging tournaments in the nation.

Qualifying for Fargo Nationals is a dream come true, especially as a Freshman. In order to go, I am hoping to raise $2,200, which includes costs for food, the flight to Fargo and other transportation, team gear, training camps, and hotel fees.
