Help for Alex with SMA
Thank you for all your donations! Alex got enough money for the treatment. The fundraiser is still active beacause Alex still needs money for expenses related to this process.
Any extra money will be sent to Alexej and Amelia, another two kids with SMA who are still waiting to collect money for Zolgensma.

Alex, a little boy from Slovakia, was diagnosed with Spinal muscular atrophy (SMA1). There is hope for him called Zolgensma. According to statement from Boston hospital he is a suitable candidate for it. The problem is that the cost of it is 2.1 mil USD! His parents are doing everything to help their little son. It's important to raise money as soon as possible because little Alex doesn't have so much time. He needs to get the treatment before his 2nd birthday (July 20th 2020). If he doesn't get treatment it will result in the loss of motor neurons and progressive muscle wasting. The majority of children do not survive past 2 years of age due to respiratory failure. Alex is currently getting Spinraza treatment which helps him live but without Zolgesma he will never be able to sit up or walk. Please help Alex to become a happy kid!

I'm the cousin of Alex's mom. We spent many summers together as kids so it makes me really sad to see the challenge she's dealing with. I'm trying to do something to help their situation. You're welcome to check this fundraiser with her on facebook . She couldn't start the fundraiser from Slovakia so I did it instead of her.
