Alex was a lover of life and the world. His adventurous spirit led him to beautiful places where he had the chance to touch the lives of so many. No matter where he was or who he met, he offered kindness and generosity because that was his nature, and how he approached the world around him. He had an amazing ability to maintain connections no matter how much time had passed, which is evident in the outpouring of love for him now.

He loved his family and never failed to say “I love you” when finishing a conversation, ending the day, or jumping on his bike towards his next adventure. Even when those words weren’t spoken, his love language spoke for him through his endless acts of service – whether he was playing personal chef to those he loved or sending you the perfect three songs for your walk in the woods. He was as likely to tell a vulgar joke or share a nonsensical quip as he was to push you to reflect on life or sit in quiet contemplation. He found so much joy in life, most of all through traveling, cycling, fishing, music, and cooking.

His attachment to the water lasted throughout his life – from growing up on Fairfield beach, to attending Bridgeport Regional Aquaculture School for 2 years in High School, to fishing for salmon in Alaska, to taking a naked dip in Thailand during his final days. Just as the water flows, so did Alex… shaping those around him as a force of nature, constantly moving forward, and creating the poetry of his life with toughness and determination.

When Alex left, he was on another great adventure doing what he loved. In that spirit, his family will be using these funds to cover expenses and contribute to causes that were close to his heart.
