Alex (Sensei) Bednenko Support Fund

This fund is in support of a truly unique individual who has left an eternal imprint on many lives. Alex Bednenko has left this realm doing what he loved in a place he built from the ground up. Alex will forever be a mentor to countless people for his contribution to the world of Jiu-Jitsu. He created an atmosphere of acceptance and growth in both the art and ourselves. Alex leaves behind his Wife, a force of nature by her own right and two little boys who will only know their father for his greatness and fearlessness in the face of obstacles which lesser men would turn their backs on.
These donations will solely be used to support the financial burden of his hospital bills, which exceed the amount of what the goal is set to, along with miscellaneous expenses for his beloved Grappling Club and other incurred financial burdens from his passing. Superseding this goal will only strengthen the community as many of the dollars will be put back into The Grappling Club to further build upon what Alex has left behind.
I myself am an old friend... some may say his oldest and dearest. But the support that I have personally witnessed directed towards Alex, his family and the Club(s) leads me to believe that I am not the only one who genuinely loved, appreciated and revered the man many called Sensei. I was beside him as his best man for his wedding. And I was beside him when he took his last breaths. Now, he is beside me as I move forward doing everything in my power to honor his name and uplift his legacy.
I implore you all who knew the man, who trained with him or just want to do a genuinely good deed for a noble cause, to donate to this fund. Every single dollar will be thoughtfully utilized in support of this cause. And to all those who have already reached out to offer a helping hand, his family and I are eternally grateful to you all. There is much work to be done, but its significantly easier and more rewarding knowing that this work is for a special person and a special place.
