On Friday August 20, 2021, we received the call that we never wanted to receive. After a 10 year battle with addiction, my brother Alex J. Rood lost his fight.
My parents fought tirelessly beside him, always supporting him in his struggles and in his periods of recovery. If love could have saved him, he would be the healthy, happy boy we choose to remember him as today.
Now not only are we facing a future without him, but my parents are also facing the hefty expenses that come with laying him to rest. No parent is ever prepared to bury their child.
