Alex Richmond Memorial & Scholarship Fund
Donation protected
On Thursday May 8th, the Robinson and Fairfax communities suffered a devastating loss. On his drive home after school, Alex Richmond unexplainably veered off the road into a tree. Alex succumbed to his injuries on the scene, just weeks away from his graduation from Robinson Secondary School.
Alex was an Eagle Scout from Troop 1346 where he saved Burke Community Church money by leading an Eagle Scout project to renovate the disability ramp and railing.
But what best describes Alex was his passion for engineering and combat robotics. He has often been described by others as being truly gifted. He built robots and competed regularly in NHRL (National Havoc Robot League). He built his own motorized bicycle and even started a business out of his house, building robots for people internationally. On the weekends he was giving CAD lessons and skills workshops to aspiring robot builders for free. His mom, Connie, recalls the sounds of the 3D printer running all hours of the night. Today, on Mother's Day, Connie, father Eric, and brother Nick are left with deafening silence.
As friends of the Richmond’s, we have built this GoFundMe page as a result of the outpouring offers of support. Funds from this page will all go directly to the Richmond family to cover funeral costs and hopefully start a robotics scholarship in Alex's name to help other young aspiring robot builders achieve their dreams.
Even if you cannot support financially, your prayers, words of healing & comfort will help lift the weight of this unimaginable loss of the Richmond family.
Note: All donations will be sent directly to the Richmond family.
