Supporting our good friend Alex

You may have known Alex from teaching Zumba, GVSU, Roosevelt Park Ministries, Kent County, The Hispanic Center, Lee High School, Mary Free Bed, teaching healthy eating for the YMCA, or from any of the three gyms, he belonged to. He loved working out and helping others.

Unfortunately, our beloved Alex (Alexander Reyes) recently passed away on December 6, 2021. Alex was a wonderful son, student, friend, and community worker with a focus on Public Health who touched the lives of those around him and was loved by all. He leaves behind his beloved mother who was the light of his eyes. Alex was only 25 years old and had a lot of drive.

Alex dedicated his life to being the main support for his mom as well he used to volunteer at some local nonprofits and worked in a few different organizations.

We are all devastated by Alex’s loss and his family was not prepared for this. Especially his mom who was all she had by her side. Alex was her only son and the only family member she had here in Grand Rapids.

We are currently asking for donations to help his mom cover any cost that comes up.

Please consider helping out his loved ones through this difficult time, as they navigate this loss and move forward in life without him. We understand the COVID19 pandemic has had a financial impact on many families- any amount will truly help his family.

Le encantaba hacer ejercicio y ayudar a los demás.

Desafortunadamente, nuestro querido Alex (Alexander Reyes) falleció recientemente el 6 de diciembre de 2021. Alex era un hijo dedicado, estudiante, amigo y trabajador comunitario con enfoque en salud pública que tocó la vida de quienes lo rodeaban y era querido por todos. Deja atrás a su amada madre quien era la luz de sus ojos. Alex tenía solamente 25 años y tenía mucha determinación y energía.

Alex dedicó su vida a ser el principal apoyo para su madre. También solía ser voluntario en algunas organizaciones sin fines de lucro locales y trabajo en diferentes organizaciones.

Estamos devastados por la pérdida de Alex. Su familia no estaba preparada para esto, especialmente su mamá siendo que Alex era su único hijo y el único miembro de la familia que ella tenía aquí en Grand Rapids.

Actualmente estamos solicitando donaciones para ayudar a su mamá a cubrir cualquier costo que surja.
