Alex was on his way from school in town when a truck pulled into traffic to make a left hand turn without yielding. Alex was unable to stop his motorcycle in time and struck the truck. He was thrown forward and ejected from the motorcycle striking his head on the truck and concrete ending up under the vehicle. Bystanders were quick to react reaching his side and keeping him calm until EMS arrived. He was airlifted to Medical City Arlington as a Trauma. He was diagnosed with radius and ulnar fractures (completely broken wrists)on both arms with dislocations on both. Also a concussion, grade 4 liver laceration (5 being the worst), bruising to both of his lungs,a small right pneumothorax, and blood around his aorta. After being stabilized he was sent to the ICU for monitoring, where spent the next day, which was his 18th birthday in and out of consciousness from all of the medications they have him on. In the next few days he will undergo surgery where they will cast his arms and he will not be able to use them for the next few months. He was told he won't be able to pick up anything heavier than an orange for 4 months. Alex has a long painful recovery ahead of him, but with strength and persistence he will make a full recovery. Insurance only covers part of the expenses and the bills are piling up, we want to make sure Alex has a speedy recovery without the worry of how much its costing his family. Anything you can do to help is much appreciated. Thank you
