Alex Pare Memorial Basketball Court Fund
Donation protected
Anyone who knew my baby brother knows that he was a dedicated basketball player. If he wasn't in our house or at our dad's place, he was either at team practice, practicing his free throws, or playing pick-up games with his friends. After Alex Pare's passing at the age of 15 on August 9, 2020, our family has decided that the best way to commemorate and honor him would be to help improve the basketball court at the Culver public park, where he loved to play his favorite game. He meant so much to his teammates and fellow Cavaliers, and it's the way that we know he would want to be remembered.
Depending on the success of our financial goals, we have three improvement plans: restore the nets and repaint the court, build bleachers for spectators or breaks, or give it a roof to enable other sports lovers to play in the rain (or have some shade in the summer heat). Alex's mother and sisters will be choosing the final form of the memorial by the end of September 2020; donations will be accepted until then.
Your help during this devastating time will not only help put the Pare family's mind at ease knowing that Alex will be remembered fondly as the dedicated athlete that he was, but it will also help other young members of the community spend time together and keep active for years to come. Thank you all for your love and care!
