Alex was riding his bike home through Cap Hill on Saturday night, the 28th, and was thrown from his bicycle and physically attacked by 3 men as they stole his bike. He ended up spending the day in the ER with a number of injuries. His nose was broken in 3 places, 10 stitches across his face, internal bleeding in his abdomen, and a number of cuts, gashes, and lacerations across his face. A police report has been filed and is being investigated as a potential targeted crime, but assault and robbery none the less. Alex rides his bike pretty much everywhere to avoid downtown parking fees. It was stolen, but ironically - someone was riding it through his neighborhood the next afternoon. While his bike was recovered, the frame is bent and the handle bars are damaged. Alex works as a server and a bartender and because of this incident he'll be missing work for AT LEAST a week without pay or tips, in addition to paying for an ER visit, stitches, X-Rays, and Cat Scans. $5...$10...anything helps.
