Alex Moriarty

Dear family, friends and fans of Alex Moriarty, including the remarkable people at Marshall, Salesian, and UCLA,

Let’s be honest. Alex Moriarty is the kid everyone wants to coach and teach. He is the guy everyone wants as a friend and teammate. He is the son and brother we all wish we had. He is the man at age 20 that very few are after a lifetime of effort.  

Alex loves life fiercely, he listens and learns tirelessly, and his kindness and decency put most of us to shame. Alex is all smiles and sweat and sneakers and legos and math and sunshine. 

For 4 years, Alex has given glioblastoma a really good fight. He has been knocked down and gotten back up, back into the classroom, back onto the court.  We have all been crying, praying, hugging, shouting, swearing and making deals with the devil to right this wrong.  

It's time to mobilize our sadness and frustration into raising funds for the Moriarty family. We want Robin, John and Jack to focus on Alex instead of on everyday obligations and the cost of his medical care. 

Let's repay some of the love and joy that Alex and his family bring into the world and help them bear the unbearable. Together, we can shoulder a little bit of weight for the Moriarty's. We can show them how lucky we are to know Alex and how profoundly and permanently he touches our lives.
