Update:
With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Alexandra on March 28, with her family at her side. She leaves behind her close family, including two sons, Noah (9) and Connor (18 months). The kind words and thoughts have been greatly appreciated and people have expressed that they would like to donate into a trust fund her sons. We have set up another page https://www.gofundme.com/trust-fund-for-noah-and-connor to put into an official trust. All the money raised will be set aside for the boys future. 31-year-old mother of two young boys, diagnosed with terminal breast cancer, marrying her Fiancé
I started this page for my cousin Alex. I never thought that I would be writing this.
My cousin Alex has metastatic breast cancer. She is only 31 years old, and was diagnosed last August. At the time, she was 32 weeks pregnant with her second son, Connor, and waited 4 weeks to deliver him on September 2nd, 2017.
After overcoming a few obstacles, including the port-a-cath insertion which led to a collapsed lung, Alex finally started her chemotherapy treatments in October 2017. The goal of the chemo was not to cure it (it had already surpassed being cured), but the hope was to control the cancer as a chronic illness and manage it. Unfortunately, Alex has tried 2 different chemo treatments that did not work. A third, very aggressive, chemo is being used with the hopes of slowing down this fast growing cancer that has spread to many areas throughout her body. The doctor is very worried and she has said that if this treatment doesn’t work, Alex likely has only 2-3 months to live. We are NOT giving up, but it’s so hard.
At the oncologist appointment at the end of June 2018, the doctor told Alex that she should do whatever is important to her, NOW! Alex and her Fiancé, Bill, were planning to get married Fall 2019, but with the doctor’s words, they are now getting married on June 30th, 2018. They have been together for over 10 years and have two wonderful boys, 8-year-old Noah and 10-month-old Connor.

We are asking for donations for my cousin, to be used for the wedding and for activities she can do with her family, while she still has the time to create memories with her Fiancé and their two sons. As well, 20% of the total raised will go to Cancer Care, in the hope that another family can be spared this pain, fear, and worry in the future.
We hear of acquaintances or of people on the news who are diagnosed with cancer, but we never think it could happen to ourselves, to our family. Please hold your loved ones close, because time really is the most precious thing we have.
