Hi everyone! My name is Alex Gray, or as some of you know me, Son of a Butch. I am a 22 year old genderqueer lesbian living in so called Vancouver, Canada. I work in harm reduction during the day and in night life as a bar back/busser, sober buddy, and drag king. I came out as trans three years ago, and I started hormone replacement therapy four months ago. This has been a vital step to aligning myself with my gender identity and has improved my mental health significantly. I’m really excited to share that I will be going through the next step in my transition by getting top surgery with Dr. Mckee in early November. I am beyond grateful to have access to this gender affirming surgery, but my jobs in harm reduction and nightlife are very physically demanding and I will need to take a month off work to properly heal and recover. With your help, I am aiming to raise $3000 to help cover my living expenses as well as the additional medical costs while I recover from surgery.
