Who this will help
Hello, We are the family of Alex Hanson. Alex gained his Angel Wings after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was a wonderful Husband, Father, Son, Son in law, Brother, Nephew, Uncle, Cousin and Brother in law ;
Alex is a loving spirit that is gone way too soon who leaves behind a Lovely Wife and two Awesome children. We want to help raise funds for Alex’s family as they navigate through this time and for the future.
Why I'm fundraising
Alex Hanson's cancer story:
For just shy of 2 years, Alex fought Melanoma that started with a mole on his neck. He completed his chemo and radiation in mid-November of this year and he and his family thought that he had beat the cancer. Alex was excited to move on with his life and celebrate his victory against cancer and the Christmas holiday with his wife Jen, and two little ones Briella (5) and Brycen (4).
Unfortunately, things took an abrupt and unexpected turn at the beginning of this month when Alex suffered a partial seizure that resulted in a trip to the ER and a CT of his head. The CT of his brain showed that the cancer had metastasized to his brain in the form of 20 tumors. Alex tried to fight, but a couple of days before he started his chemo, radiation, and immunotherapy, another partial seizure happened that landed him in Abbott ER. Alex had multiple scans and 2 rounds of radiation, and was allowed to go home to watch his daughters dance recital. He was up and around the house, spending time with his kids and wife and resting up for the "big dance" on Sunday. In addition, he was planning on going to work Sunday night.
His plans didn't come to fruition, as he had a stroke Sat night paralizing the left side of his body. Back to Abbott we go. And that is when we were given the devastating news that the cancer was progressing very rapidly, and his brain began to shift and herniate. All our treatment option doors closed.
Alex went home on hospice and died on 12/20/2023 surrounded by those who loves him dearly.
The impact of your support
Alex was a a great family man and wonderful spirit gone to soon. Although we know Alex is singing to his grandmothers in heaven, he will be truly missed.
Your support to assist Alex’s family now and in the future to navigate this horrible loss would be greatly appreciated.
