After a break of 16 years Alex Duce decided to come back into Triathlon.
Having not run a marathon let alone complete a full Ironman he entered the toughest one of all, Lanzarote.
Having not run a marathon let alone complete a full Ironman he entered the toughest one of all, Lanzarote.
2.4 Mile swim, 112-mile bike and then a full 26.2-mile (marathon) run to finish.
The results speak for themselves - he qualified for the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii. To achieve this is a dream for most Triathletes, and if you manage to make the selection, it is something that you can't turn down.
As a result of qualifying now comes another huge challenge, raising the money to go to Hawaii to compete.
The entry fee alone is over £1000, plus flights, hotel and costs of transporting his bike, it all mounts up.
If you feel you can help in any small way it would be amazing.
