Alex Necesita Tu Ayuda - Alex Needs Your Help

De parte de la familia de Alejandro (Alex) Desmoineaux:

Maturin, Venezuela: Alex ha vivido con Parkinson desde el 2007. Debido a situación país y la dificultad de manejar esta enfermedad, Alex dejó de caminar en los últimos meses del 2020 y en febrero fue diagnosticado con ulceras por presión - escaras - en grado 4 con nec rosis (ATENCION imágenes fuertes). Este grado es el más severo que afecta los músculos y ligamentos y requiere atención inmediata.

Desde principios de febrero, Alex ha estado recibiendo curas quirúrgicas 3 veces a la semana (con la cirujana y el anestesiólogo). A principios de abril, la cirujana determinó que era apropiado comenzar a suturar las heridas. Esto ha sido un proceso largo y muy doloroso para Alex. Gracias a Dios Alex ha respondido bien a los tratamientos y el pronóstico es favorable, pero sigue delicado. Mínimo faltan 2-3 meses más de cuidado intensivo para volver a recibir servicios de rehabilitación para caminar. Las terapias fueron suspendidas al suturar las heridas para evitar que se le fuera alguna sutura y por el dolor intenso.

Debido al alto número de hospitalizados contagiados con COVID, el equipo médico decidió que la salud de Alex era muy delicada para ingresarlo al hospital. Por esto todos los tratamientos, incluyendo las cirugías, se han estado efectuando en la casa con prevenciones.

Alex necesita de su solidaridad y oraciones. Todas las donaciones irán hacia sus costos médicos que son entre $8,000-$10,000 mensuales. En estos gastos incluyen: equipo médico (cirujana, anestesiólogo, internista, neuróloga, fisiatra, nutricionista), medicamentos, material quirúrgico, material aséptico, tratamientos de ozono, y exámenes de laboratorio. Los recursos en Venezuela están limitados y muchos de los materiales médicos y las medicinas se han tenido que pedir del exterior que resulta en altos costos y demora.

Since the beginning of February, Alex has been receiving surgical treatments 3 times a week (with the surgeon and the anesthesiologist). In early April, the surgeon determined that it was appropriate to begin suturing the wounds. This has been a long and very painful process for Alex. Thankfully, Alex has responded well to the treatments and the prognosis is favorable, but he is still delicate. At least 2-3 more months of intensive care are needed until he can then transition to rehabilitative services. The therapies were suspended when the wounds were closed to avoid any suture coming out and due to the intense pain.

Due to the high number of hospitalized patients with COVID in Maturin, the medical team decided that Alex's health was too delicate to admit him to the hospital. For this reason all treatments, including surgeries, have been carried out at home with preventions.

All donations will go towards Alex's medical costs which are between $ 8,000-$10,000 per month. These expenses include: the medical team (surgeon, anesthesiologist, internist, neurologist, physical therapist, nutritionist, and nurses), medications, surgical supplies, aseptic supplies, ozone treatments, and laboratory tests. Resources in Venezuela are limited and many of the medical supplies and medicines have had to be ordered from abroad, resulting in high costs and delays.
