Support for the Loss of Alex Conant

Donation protected
On November 3, 2019, Alex was reported missing after his red Jeep Wrangler and phone were found abandoned on the I-74 bridge. The investigation is ongoing, however at this point the evidence is looking more and more likely that Alex did end up in the Mississippi River. The focus of the investigation is now on search and recovery. Boats from several different rescue teams: Moline, Bettendorf, the Rock Island Arsenal, Andalusia, the IL and IA DNR have been conducting searches. Highly experienced recovery teams have also been brought in to help with the search. This includes Christian Aid Ministries and Bruce's Legacy. Unfortunately, weather and river conditions will make recovery difficult but we won't give up until Alex is found and brought home.

Alex was an amazing son, grandson, big brother, nephew, cousin and friend who meant so much to so many.

How you can help - Many of you have been asking how you can help. As his family navigates this difficult time, their extended family wanted to create this page as a way for Alex’s friends & family to surround them with love and support.

Please consider:
- Making a donation to help the family with future arrangements, expenses and legal fees during this difficult time.
- Leaving a note for the family or sharing a fond memory of Alex.
-Although the search and recovery teams brought in generously donate their time there is some cost provided by family.
- Gifting Hilton Honors or Credit Card points to help lodge search & rescue teams being brought in to find Alex. If interested in gifting points, please email [email redacted].

Any funds remaining after supporting the family in this time of need will be donated to charity. Please see below for a list of charities the family is planning to support in honor of Alex.

Please check back often, as we will post updates here as we have them.

A note from Alex’s Family

Dear Friends, family, and everyone supporting us in this difficult time,

The outpouring of support we have received from our family, friends and the community has been so unbelievable. Words just can't express the amount of gratitude we have for all of you. You have made this awful time just that much more bearable.

Alex, we love and miss you and we will never stop searching.

Sincerely,
Rik and Cari Conant
