Story

On Friday evening, January 11, 2019, Alex Stefan and Devin Burnham were in a terrible car accident.  Alex suffered many injuries including multiple fractures in her back and pelvis, 18 broken ribs, a deflated lung, a small bleed in her brain and a liver laceration. She had surgery to find the source of fluid in her abdomen and is now battling multiple infections on top of all of her injuries. Devin’s injuries include a broken arm, broken hip and several cuts on his forehead. They were transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital where Devin discharged himself to be by Alex’s side in the Trauma ICU. If you’ve ever met Alex, you know how strong she is and it shouldn’t come as a surprise that she is fighting and showing signs of improvement. Devin continues to be very kind and supportive. He’s barely left the hospital since the accident. It’s already been over a week since the accident and Alex is still in the Trauma ICU. At this point, it is unclear how much longer Alex will be in the hospital. All we know is that the doctors have said that she is very sick and will have a very long journey to recovery. Medical expenses are piling up with no end in sight. Alex may have to go to rehab once she leaves the hospital to try to get her body functioning normally again. We are asking for your help to support Alex and Devin during this challenging time so they can get back to being the people that we know and love.
