Hello! My name is Jacob Gonzales and I'm a film student at UT Austin. This project manifested out of my fears and anxieties for our future in this country.

aleX is a story about an outed undocumented immigrant forced to use a tech company's new AI model in exchange for his citizenship.

We’re living in a moment when artificial intelligence is exploding into every corner of our lives, and while immigration debates grow more intense than ever-- this film sits at the crossroads of those realities. It begs the questions: Who gets to decide how new technologies shape our future? And what happens when human dignity is reduced to a corporate bargain? This film isn’t just science fiction; it’s a glimpse of the near future.
